Who Are We?

The Dyslexia Center of the Shoals is a Registered Nonprofit (501C3) organization that provides academic language therapy education and resources to meet the needs of those affected by Dyslexia

What Do We Do?

We provide support and services for dyslexic children of all ages. Our office is in conveniently located in the Shoals area and we proudly serve all surrounding counties.

What Is Dyslexia?

  • Dyslexia is one of a family of Specific Learning Difficulties.
  • Many people who have dyslexia have strong visual, creative and problem solving skills.
  • Dyslexia is not linked to intelligence but can make learning difficult.
  • Dyslexia is a life-long condition which has a substantial effect on an individual’s day to day activities and is classed as a disability under the Equality Act 2010.

Tutoring

We offer evidence-based, one-on-one tutoring tailored to the unique needs of students with
dyslexia. Using structured literacy approaches, our trained tutors focus on building reading,
writing, and spelling skills in a supportive and engaging environment. Our goal is to equip
students with the tools and confidence they need to succeed academically and beyond.
